Learn To Swim

The Learn to Swim classes take place at Hebburn Central pool, on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons, at Jarrow School pool on Saturday mornings and at Boldon School pool on Friday evenings.

Potential new members are put on a waiting list and are called for assessment when we have a space in the appropriate class for their swimming standard.

There is usually a great demand for places in the non-swimmers classes, so it is advisable to put your child’s name down as early as possible.

South Tyneside Swimming Club's Learn to Swim scheme conforms to the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme.

The teaching is conducted by an enthusiastic team of ASA qualified teachers.

As the young swimmers progress through the carefully planned stages of swimming development they will learn the necessary water skills required for competitive swimming.

Progress up to the next level could result in a change of class at the end of each block as it is important that swimmers join the class relevant to their level.

Everyone completing a block of lessons has a place for them in the next block if they require, provided they re-book by the final week of their current block. Please visit the individual Learn To Swim day session pages for block dates.
