Instructions when attending a Gala - Reminder

Posted on Monday, March 30, 2015 in Squads

A reminder to all swimmers and parents of the procedures to communicate any withdrawals from a gala.

  •  Inform your Coach in advance if you know you are unable to attend a gala.  Do this as soon as possible.  It is also useful to give this information to the Competition Secretary so where possible withdrawals can be carried out prior to the gala to reduce paperwork on the actual day of the meet. Your Competition Secretary can be contacted at galainfo@stswim79.co.uk or through Squad Reps.
  • If you are unable to attend a gala on the day inform the Coach attending the gala as soon as possible. Start lists for Coaches and Officials are usually prepared 15 minutes into warm-up and so withdrawals need to be made in advance of this cut-off time.  All involved - the host club, officials, swimmers and spectators - benefit if galas run without empty lanes but this can only happen if information is passed onto Coaches in time for them to inform the meet organisers.
  • All swimmers should arrive at the pool 10-15 minutes prior to warm-up of the session and sign in with your Coach or Team Manager(TM).  Failure to do this could result in you being withdrawn from your races.
