Returning to the Pool - Club Survey

Posted on Saturday, June 20, 2020 in Squads

Good morning/afternoon

Hope you’re well and staying safe.

Swim England published their returning to pool advice earlier this week ahead of the Government giving the green light for a return to the water. The guidance is based on the latest scientific advice and Government guidelines and will be updated to reflect any changes announced in the future. You can read it HERE.

We are working closely with South Tyneside Leisure Service and Public Health England (PHE) to put the necessary processes in place to ensure swimmers and coaches can return safely to the pool when leisure facilities reopen.

To help us plan and prepare for the ‘new normal’ we have produced a short survey for you to complete.

Please complete the survey by clicking HERE.

NB, if you have more than one child attending any of the competitive squads, please complete one survey for each child.

We know you will have questions regarding the logistics, how it will impact swimmers, the training schedule and squad fees. Please rest assured, we will update you when we have reviewed the survey data against pool availability and the return to pool guidelines.

A risk assessment will be completed and signed off by PHE. We also plan to produce an explanatory video which will demonstrate the new normal. The video will include steps we will take to ensure a safe return to training and our expectations of swimmers entering and leaving poolside. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions.

Please note, your survey response is for information only. There is no commitment at this stage. We will follow up with further communications as our plans to return to poolside are finalised.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,

South Tyneside Swimming Club
