This evening a special celebration event was organised at Hebburn Swimming Pool, home of South Tyneside Swimming Club, to welcome home Josef Craig, our very own Paralympic Champion and world record holder.
Swimmers from all squads, both Competition and Learn to Swim were joined by Councillor Alan Kerr, Deputy Leader of South Tyneside Council in congratulating Josef on his fantastic achievements at the recent Paralympic games in London.

We are holding an event on Wednesday night to congratulate and welcome back Josef from the Paralympics as Champion and World Record Holder for the S7 400m Freestyle.
The event will follow the same format as Swimmer of the Month.
Swimmers should arrive at Hebburn for 7.45pm wearing their club tracksuits.
Please ensure all members are aware, particularly if they missed their Monday training session last night.

Congratulations to Josef on winning Gold and breaking his own World Record from this morning in the final of the S7 400m Freestyle. Josef new world record time in a time of 4.42.81
It was a fabulous, exciting swim for Great Britain's youngest ever mens Paralympic Medal Winner in the pool.

Congratulations to Josef on setting a new World Record in the S7 400m freestyle event. Taking 8.46s off his previous personal best time.
Josef is seeded 1st for the final this evening which will take place around 5.46pm.

Improving on his personal best time once again, Josef finished in 7th place in a time of 29.39s.

Another personal best for Josef, this time in the S7 50m freestyle event. He finished 3rd in his heat in a time of 29.48s and is seeded 7th fastest for the final which will take place around 8.11pm this evening.

Well done to Josef on an excellent swim finishing in a personal best time of 1.02.20 and coming 4th just 7 tenths of a second outside a medal position.
