City of Sunderland ASC's New Year Meet will be held over 21st, 22nd & 23rd January 2022 at the Aquatics Centre, Sunderland.
This is a Level 1 meet. (Long Course/converted Short Course times from Rankings required)

The list of STSC accepted entries can be found above. The meet was over-subscribed and unfortunately rejection criteria has been required to manage the session times. Refunds will be handled via Squad Reps and Coaches.
There will be no further entries accepted and any withdrawals from this point will only be refunded in line with meet condition 10.
UPDATE TO GUIDANCE (19/1/2022)
Everyone
Active have just reviewed their Covid Guidance for hirers resulting in the
following changes:
- Anyone
under the age of 18 years old does not have to show lateral flow
confirmation upon entry;
- Anyone
who is participating in the sporting activity (i.e. for a gala, your
swimmers) does not have to show lateral flow confirmation upon entry;
- However
as the gala is above the max numbers is over the government’s 500 limit
all other officials, coaches, time keepers, team managers who are over 18
years old must show that proof.
Therefore anyone competing (swimming) at the gala need to still do
their LFT however they do not need to show any proof of that negative test
upon entry. Anyone not competing, all volunteers, officials and coaches will
still need to show proof of a LFT upon entry.
We have been asked to share the following information with
parents/guardians and all (coaches, team managers
and swimmers) attending this meet (17/1/2022):-
This gala with proceed with no spectators at poolside, this decision has been made due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic.
Swimmers/Coaches are to gain access to the Centre via the two fire exits doors at the side of the building, you will be greeted by our volunteers who will ask you to show proof of a negative LFT test to gain entry and direct you to the allocated area for your club. Space is limited so where possible please use the lockers in the changing village. Due to the size of our New Year gala this is a necessary requirement to minimize the risk of COVID being spread.
Parents please collect your swimmer from outside the main entrance. The Centre has requested that no parents gather inside the main entrance and
not enter the changing village.
- The following clubs will enter via Fire Exit 1 immediate left side of the building) every morning and turn to the left to go to their allocated areas.
Perth City Swim Club, Stockport Metro, Teesdale Tiger Sharks, City of Sunderland ASC, City of Bradford, Darlington ASC , West Dunbartonshire ASC, Bassettlaw Swim Squad, Morpeth ASC , Tynemouth, Derwentside ASC, Chester le Street ASC, Borough of Kirklees, Billingham Forum, South Ayrshire Swim Team, City of Glasgow Swim Team, Newcastle Swim Team.
- The following clubs will enter via Fire Exit 2 every morning (far end left side of the building) and walk ahead between the cool down pool and main pool walkway to their allocated areas.
BOSS, Hartlepool SC, Richmond Dale ASC, University of Edinburgh, South Tyneside Swim Club, Falkirk IRS team , Durham City Aquatics, University of Aberdeen, Hamilton Baths ASC, York City Bathing Club, Elsemere College Titans, Doncaster Dartes, Dundee City Aquatics, Dumfries ASC, Tynedale SC.
Please do not arrive early. Entry is via the allocated areas only.
Friday night sessions arrive at Fire Exit 2 (far end of the building) from 16:15 onwards for admission and LFT check.
Morning sessions - Doors will open at 7:30 until 8:30 each day for admission and LFT check.
Afternoon sessions – Doors will open at 12:30 until 13:30 at Fire Exit
2 for admission and LFT check.
COVID REGULATIONS - LATERAL FLOW TESTING (LFT) PROTOCOLS
All attendees of City of Sunderland ASC New Year gala must adhere to the following LFT protocols:
* Attendees are required to self-administer lateral flow tests before
attending the gala each day - these can be ordered from the NHS on the link below:

* Complete the lateral flow test as per instructions, taking specific
notice of the length of time required to leave the test before reading the results;
* The result of the LFT must be reported to the NHS COVID reporting
system via the link below:

* This produces a text and email notifying you of your negative
result; this must be shown on the door at arrival;
* This process must be completed by everyone in attendance, for each
day of attendance, lack of evidence of a negative test will result in no entry the venue;
* If your result is positive, you are not to attend the gala and
should arrange an NHS PCR test as per Government guidance;
* If you have any illness symptoms, please do not attend the gala;
* If you have had COVID in the last 90 days, please still do a lateral
flow test and bring proof with you that you have had a positive PCR.
MASKS / PPE / HAND SANITISER
All attendees of City of Sunderland ASC New Year gala must adhere to the following protocols:
* Masks must be worn whilst inside;
* Covering over the nose and mouth, at all times at the competition
venue, except when in the water or if medically exempt. Evidence of exemption must be made available for inspection whilst onsite;
* It is recommended that you use the available hand sanitiser on entry
to the Centre and at various stations around the Centre.
SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOL
All attendees of a City of Sunderland ASC New Year gala must take all reasonable measures to ensure a safe distance is maintained between any persons on the premises. If you are required to wait to enter the premises, ensure a safe distance is also maintained.

link and the live results can be located here. Start lists will be uploaded the evening before to the session following the published withdrawal cut-off deadline.
Due to COVID there will be no lunch provided for those clubs that purchased coaches passes. The cost of lunch will be reimbursed to each coach on the day of attendance.
The Aquatics Centre have a small café which will be open during the day however may have limited stock available – alternatively there are a number of shops nearby where you can purchase lunch.
Finally, there is a home football match on Saturday 22 January therefore there will be no car parking facilities in the immediate area of the Centre, however you can park in the Sheepfolds area or on the far side of Tesco's but please be aware some streets do have residential permit restrictions enforced as does Tesco/retail car park with time constraints on match days . The stadium of Light Metro car park SR5 1JB is pay and display along with St Marys car park SR1 3AH which is a short walk across the Wearmouth Bridge to the Aquatic Centre. Parents may be able to drop off at the centre entrance however please be aware this will be at the discretion of the stewards on duty from early Saturday morning throughout the day for the football match. The match will finish at @ 4:45 so expect this area to be busy.
